Inter-Atlantic seeks to identify and create growth capital investments in underserved markets, with a specific focus on the financial, business and consumer services sectors, one of the largest segments of the US economy.

Significant opportunities exist for private equity investments targeting growth capital in underserved US markets.  Large corporations that provide services are often focused on affluent urban and suburban markets and tend to overlook less affluent, rural or ethnically diverse populations such as Hispanics.  Providers of financial services, personal services and business services typically operate in highly competitive sectors; the major exception, and hence the investment opportunity, lies within the markets that remain underserved by these institutions.

Targeted areas of financial, personal and business services may include: payment businesses, money transfer, transaction processing, property and casualty insurance, life and health insurance, banking, leasing, tax preparation, accounting, legal, website design and hosting, e-commerce, real estate management, employee benefits, risk management, third party administration, data management, account servicing, human resource management, consulting, customer relationship management, and service providers to companies in all of these sectors.  IAG has analyzed in detail and maintains files on over 1,000 private company investment opportunities.

Often, Inter-Atlantic focuses on niche opportunities that are typically overlooked by other private equity firms. Inter-Atlantic is principally focused on US and Bermuda opportunities but considers investment opportunities worldwide.  Inter-Atlantic generally seeks influence over a portfolio company's governance matters with board representation and extensive shareholder rights.  Investments are typically in the $3 million to $15 million range.
